Nova Mob vs. the Lords of Chaos

Standing here….

February 4, 2008 · No Comments

It’s been almost two years already that I have maintained my blogs here…over that period of time, I have acquired a greater maturity about my role as a blogger.   It is not just to vainly show off or soapbox but also to share and mould thoughts.

Sure, I have had my share of spam and flame, but I make it a point not to stoop down to anyone’s cheap attacks.  I am proud of the fact that my Tagalog blog always turns up in “Blog of the Day” listings…maybe because even if I still do struggle when trying to write in the vernacular, expressing my thoughts in Filipino has become less and less of an effort to me.   More often than not, I would like to maintain separate blogs in English and Tagalog in order to thoroughly express myself both as a progressive-minded Filipino and a citizen of the wired world.

In that case, I will be setting up two more blogs….the one you are reading right now as well as the sister one ( http://quintintarantado.wordpress.com/)  will still remain, although a lot of the posts will eventually be transferred to the new sites.

No worries - these will still be under WordPress.

Anyway, getting a broadband account at home has led me to set up my own YouTube account, so you can expect even more video (as well as audio) content on my upcoming blog pages.

Until then…thanks so much to everyone who has posted here as well as those whom I’ve blogrolled…my new sites promise to contain a lot of the stuff you loved from the current ones you are reading.  My English language blog will focus mainly on music, TV, movies and gaming while my Tagalog blog will deal with women and relationships as well as cultural, social and political issues.   My well-hit upon slang dictionaries will be moved to the new English blog, which will also include multimedia reviews.   Look out also for a new music-based feature on that blog too.   Meanwhile, my Tagalog blog will also include one or two regular features.

Nevertheless, you can be assured that whatever language you speak, you can feel right at home in either of the two new blogs.  It’s just that I had this feeling that the blog pages that I were making have become far too unwieldy for their own good.

However, I have always welcomed changes…whether it be letting go finally of MySpace, hooking up with YouTube (finally) among others.  I hereby stand here once again at the precipice looking down on a thousand and one possibilities.
